Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Practical AI website, courses, assessments, certificates, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, purchasing a course, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your account information reasonably current.
You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity performed through your account. You may not share, transfer, sell, or provide another person with access to your account.
Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
2. Course Access
A course purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use that course for your own educational purposes, subject to these Terms.
Purchasing access does not transfer ownership of course content, software, assessments, grading materials, or other intellectual property.
3. Payments
Course prices are displayed before purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider we may use in the future.
You authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the amount shown at checkout.
Unless otherwise stated, the current Practical AI course offering is sold as a one-time purchase rather than a recurring subscription.
4. Refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
5. Educational and AI Content
Practical AI provides educational material intended to improve software development and AI-assisted engineering skills.
Course content, examples, assessment feedback, and AI-generated output are provided for educational purposes. They are not a substitute for your own engineering judgment, testing, security review, professional advice, or verification.
Artificial intelligence can generate incorrect, incomplete, misleading, or unexpected results. You are responsible for evaluating and verifying AI-generated output before relying on it in real software or other systems.
6. Assessment Submissions
You retain your rights in original content you submit through assessments or other interactive features.
You grant Practical AI the limited rights necessary to store, process, transmit, and evaluate your submissions in order to operate the Service, grade assessments, provide feedback, maintain progress, and improve reliability and security.
Some submissions may be processed by third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Confidential and Sensitive Information
Do not submit information that you do not have the right to provide.
In particular, you should not submit employer-confidential source code, trade secrets, passwords, API keys, production credentials, regulated personal information, or proprietary material unless you have explicit authorization to do so.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate applicable law or the rights of another person.
- Access another user's account without authorization.
- Circumvent course, enrollment, assessment, payment, or access controls.
- Attempt to extract hidden assessment answers, grading rubrics, system prompts, credentials, or other restricted information.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Introduce malicious code or attempt unauthorized security testing.
- Copy, scrape, reproduce, distribute, sell, or republish substantial portions of course content without permission.
- Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that creates unreasonable load or bypasses normal access controls.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including course lessons, original exercises, assessment materials, graphics, software, trademarks, and other original content, is owned by Practical AI or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may use course materials for your own learning, but you may not reproduce or redistribute them as a competing course, training product, content library, or substantially similar commercial offering without written permission.
10. Certificates
A Practical AI certificate is a certificate of course completion. It reflects completion of applicable course requirements and performance on the assessments associated with that course.
A certificate is not an academic degree, professional license, government credential, industry accreditation, or guarantee of employment or professional competency.
We may revoke or invalidate a certificate obtained through fraud, account sharing, manipulation of the Service, or other material violation of these Terms.
11. Service Availability and Changes
We may update course content, assessments, software, grading methods, features, or Service infrastructure over time.
We do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Temporary outages may occur because of maintenance, infrastructure failures, third-party services, security events, or other circumstances.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats, payment disputes, abusive activity, unlawful conduct, or material violations of these Terms.
Where appropriate, we may provide an opportunity to resolve the issue before permanent termination.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee specific career results, employment outcomes, software results, assessment outcomes, or that any AI-generated response will be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Practical AI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to Practical AI for the applicable course giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above indicates the most recent revision.
If a change materially affects your rights, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the laws applicable in the state where Practical AI is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where consumer protection law requires otherwise.
17. Contact
Questions regarding these Terms may be submitted using the support or contact information published on the Practical AI website.
